Energy Charges

If you are living in hall of residence, the rent often includes all energy charges. However, if you are renting a university owned flat or choosing private accommodation, you have to pay gas and electricity bills incurred for heating, cooking and other purposes.

Electricity charges are more expensive compared to gas charges for a similar purpose. You will be sent a monthly /quarterly bill, calculated on the usage (meter reading). The average cost of energy is calculated as £7 - £10 for each week.
