The University of Central Lancashire Carlisle specialises in Business, Management, Tourism and Law courses, which are taught in beautifully renovated buildings dating from the 17th century. The buildings have been up-graded to incorporate some of the most up-to-date teaching and learning facilities while retaining many original features. Students who dislike sprawling inner city university developments delight at the intimacy of this campus, which adjoins the £5 million Tullie House Museum complex whose restaurant, lecture theatre and galleries play an important role in the university life of students and staff.
 |
The Paternoster Row complex houses, language and computer laboratories, lecture theatre and seminar rooms, whilst the Castle Street buildings contain the student common room, staff offices and additional seminar rooms.
Just a few minutes walk away, and very close to the Halls of Residence you'll find the Carlisle Campus Library. A brand new state of the art building offering all the library facilities you'd expect from one of the UK's largest and fastest growing University Institutions.
The thriving Student Guild in nearby Abbey Street is a popular meeting place and there are numerous clubs and societies. A couple of minutes walk away is the Brewery Halls of Residence overlooking the River Caldew. |
With it's ideal location the Business School offers the perfect package to any student who decides to study in this vibrant City.
Student City
Situated close the Lake District, one of the most unspoilt areas of natural beauty in Europe and home to Beatrix Potter and also close to the Scottish Border, the City of Carlisle is fast becoming a popular student destination.
The rapid rise in Carlisle's student population has led to the development of a host of new facilities in the city ranging from café bars and restaurants, to bookshops, high street shops and leisure attractions which cater for a diverse range of interests and tastes.
New developments such as the multi million "golden mile" of trendy new bars, entertainment and eating places located in the city centre show prospective students that this is an excellent time to come and study in Carlisle.
