Employability

The Times Higher Education Supplement (May 2001) ranked Kingston University in 5th place for graduate employment out of 96 universities.The Sunday Times league table (September 2000) revealed that after graduation, fewer than 3% of Kingston University students remained unemployed.

A range of factors enhance the employability of Kingston's graduates:

• Links with industry and professional bodies - the University maintains close links with industry and professional bodies to ensure that its courses meet the needs of employers;
• A year out in industry or commerce - many of Kingston's degrees offer students the chance to spend a year out in industry or commerce;
• Career management skills - all students are encouraged to develop career management skills;
• Careers Service - the University's careers service fosters relationships with a wide range of graduate employers - from small businesses to blue chip companies;
• Location - Kingston's location means that graduates are well-placed to apply for jobs in central London and the City, the whole of Greater London and South East England.

The University has good links with employers, thus ensuring that your education is up-to-date and relevant to today’s business environment. Many of Kingston University degrees are vocational or offer you the chance to gain valuable work experience as part of the course on a placement in industry or commerce.
