Information Technology plays an important role in the Academy. Throughout the whole curriculum, subjects are supported by or complimented with IT. To continually develop the students, faculty and the Academy, several partnerships have been formed with leaders in the technology and hospitality automation industry.
IT facilities available for the students:
All students and all lecturers are provided with high-end laptops pre loaded with the latest office software and hospitality applications.
The complete campus is covered with a wireless network as well as with high-speed hard-wire connections. This includes the student accommodation.
Classrooms and the Auditorium are equipped with LCD projectors, Dolby surround sound, a docking station for laptops, digital camera, video and DVD connections and a color printer.
Computer classrooms are equipped with the above plus smart desktop ultra silent PC’s with TFT flat screens that are integrated in ergonomically designed furniture and are equipped with interactive projection screen.
The instruction kitchens are fitted with a digital camera for web/broadcasting demonstrations and a portable LCD projector for presentations Silent Study Rooms are designed to research electronic resources. They are equipped with ultra silent smart desktop PC’s, scanners and CD writers.
Multi Media Rooms are equipped with PC’s configured for video editing and advanced web editing, color laser printers, digital video camera and large paper size printers.
Digital senders (high speed scanners that scan to fax, e-mail or file) are available around campus.
Digital video and photo cameras are available to students and staff from the library.
Student and staff have a personal e-mail address and virtual fax and telephone number that are accessible from anywhere on the campus.
Students, faculty and staff have access to a 2MB Pipe to Internet from anywhere on the campus including the students’ dormitories.
The students are provided with a smart student ID card that functions as a door key, a library ID card and as an electronic payment card.
Food & Beverage automation includes a networked Point of Sales (POS) system with touch screen terminals and handheld POS, an automated procurement system with inventory scanners and recipe management systems.
