Normally,
social life in Canada is informal, particularly
for students. There are many opportunities to
meet and mix with other people. Plan to join
a campus club or sports team because this is
an excellent way to meet other students who
share your interests. There are many clubs on
campus (over 150) that accommodate a variety
of interests. In addition to social, athletic,
music, and departmental clubs, there are many
cultural, ethnic, and religious clubs.
Canadians have a reputation for being reserved
when meeting new people. They sometimes prefer

to get to know people. However, expect to find
Canadians curious about your country - if you
are friendly and respond to overtures, and,
especially if you participate in some group
activities, you can expect to make new friends.
